“The” Cylinder for Large Lifting, Transfer and for Strong Clamp Force
The CS2 Series, large bore
cylinder, exemplifies SMC's commitment to continued design
versatility. The CS2 is ideal for large load applications,
including lifting and transferring heavy loads. The CS2 is
designed with an aluminum exterior to minimize weight and is
factory pre-lubricated, eliminating the need for lubricated
air.
Its unique floating air cushion
seal is highly efficient in reducing end of stroke kinetic
energy. This floating air cushion seal is easier to maintain
than the current industry standard, a pressed in cushion seal, and
features an easy to adjust, 5-turn hex nut for more
precise control.
CS2 is very versatile and is available in the
following options:
- Bore sizes: 125mm, 140mm and 160mm
- 6 different mounting styles
- Single rod double acting styles
- Double rod double acting styles
- Rod boot option to inhibit cylinder contamination
- High temperature seals (up to 302 ºF)
- Low temperature seals (down to -40 ºF)
- Heavy rubber wipers for dusty environments
- 4 position, dual stroke option
- 3 position, dual stroke option
- Corrosion resistant hard chrome plated SUS piston

- Low friction, low speed capabilities (speeds down to 5mm /
sec)
