A Lighter and More Economical Repairable Cylinder (NCG)

The repairable NCG cylinder is lighter and more economical than a conventional tie-rod style cylinder and can withstand higher side loads than a compact cylinder. More importantly, the NCG series has a repairable design that allows routine seal maintenance, extending the cylinder life far beyond the life of crimp-style cylinders. The repairable construction is made possible by threading the cylinder cover onto the aluminum cylinder tube. This design allows for quick and easy maintenance and can extend the cylinder life significantly. Also, the tube and covers are hard anodized to improve impact and scratch resistance. In addition to these features, a piston wear ring is available as standard to improve the side loading capabilities. The NCG series is available in six bore sizes ranging from 20mm to 63mm and with eight different mounting styles including foot, flange, and pivot mountings. NCG cylinders are now stocked at SMC's Indianapolis production facility. Cylinders can be shipped directly from stock or accessorized with mounting kits and/or auto-switches in the factory.
