Corporate Update, a message from Chad Bosler, Director of Production
We are pleased to announce that we do not expect any major
impact to our North American customers after the earthquake and
tsunami in Japan. All of our Japanese factories are operational
with the exception of Tono and Kamaishi, which we expect to be
operational shortly; the Tono plant later this week, and the
Kamaishi plant once the necessary safety checks have been
completed.
In some cases, there are government mandated blackouts in Japan
as well as potential delays from poor road conditions or local fuel
shortages. However due to our inventory in North America and our
global production facilities outside of Japan, including our North
American headquarters in Indiana, our customers will remain
unaffected for the majority of items.
SMC's management and employees remain committed to resuming all
operations once all safety checks are complete. Our main focus
remains to serve you, our customer, for all of your pneumatic
needs.
Sincerely,
Chad Bosler
