In order to supply products adapted to diversified
individual needs with a short lead time, the establishment of an excellent
production system is a prerequisite.
In the U.S., SMC
has established two production facilities, one in Indianapolis, Indiana
and one in Los Angeles, California to provide high quality, reliable products
and technical service nationwide. Each facility produces products based
on a complete production system, including everything from casting to
machining, surface treatment, coating, assembly and testing.
As well, production facilities
have been established in 12 other locations around the world: 1 location
in Canada, 3 locations in Europe, 4 locations in Asia and Oceania, and
4 locations in Japan. Also, mid-scale facilities located in each country
ensure timely response to customer needs through excellent technical support.
Furthermore, by effectively using and combining both
stock production and back order production, SMC is able to deliver expanded
product groups including 520,000 variations within an extremely short
lead time.
