Compressed air contains moisture (water vapor, droplets), oil, debris and other foreign matter. Filters and mist separators can be used to remove droplets, oil, debris and so on, but a dryer is necessary to remove water vapor.
SMC air dryers are insurance for down stream components, and in the long run, allow for sustainable performance/production for an end customer.
Refrigerated Air Dryers
Series IDF refrigerated air dryers feature compact and quiet construction, a stainless steel heat exchanger, ozone friendly refrigerants, and a very low pressure drop. Constructed to be in compliance with the Montreal Protocol Regulations, the IDF uses refrigerants R134a and R407C (R22) to prevent any damage to the earth's ozone layer and can accommodate an inlet temperature of 104°F.
Series IDU provides a stable supply of dry air even under high demand conditions with an inlet air temperature of 140°F. The IDU's stainless steel heat exchanger improves corrosion resistance. Each unit is also equipped with an evaporation thermometer as a standard feature.
Series IDH compact air dryer offers stable, compressed air temperature control with its integrated heater, regulator, dryer, and filter. The IDH air dryer delivers a constant volume of compressed air at the correct temperature, dew point, pressure and cleanliness, regardless of external conditions or seasonal climatic conditions.

Membrane Air Dryers
The IDG membrane air dryer series is compact, lightweight, and space saving. They contain no moving parts, vibration or heat discharge and do not require electricity. Further features include a built in silencer for purge discharge as well as a built in color-coded dew point indicator, and an optional one-touch fitting exhaust.
Available as a single unit or in combination style: IDG/M - mist separator and micro mist separator with a single unit, or IDG/V - regulator with the IDG/M model.
Heatless Air Dryers
The ID heatless desiccant air dryer series provides dry air with a dew point as low as -30°C (-22°F), and offers flow rates of 100 to 975 l/min. Desiccant air dryer series ID is compact and light weight in design, and is constructed without a heater and electric control board. A built-in indicator simplifies checking the outlet dew point. The ID series desiccant air dryer works by routing air through a chamber filled with desiccant, which is a material that naturally absorbs moisture. Two chambers are included, and the unit will automatically use one of the two chambers to dry the air, while regenerating the other chamber. The unit switches desiccant chambers automatically, ensuring a consistent source of dry, low dew point air. The self-regenerative style of the desiccant air dryer allows for easy maintenance.
