Air Preparation Equipment
Mitigating and reducing the dew point of compressed air in industrial automation is done by installing refrigerated, membrane and desiccant air dryers. Water and condensate removal from industrial compressed air is done through using either a water or air-cooled aftercooler.
There are three essential processes prior to machine operation to better preserve the cycle life of expensive industrial equipment and ensure reliable machine operation.

- Filtration to removal particulates, oils and condensate
Air Preparation Equipment
HAA, Air Cooled Aftercooler
SMC's series HAA, an air cooled aftercooler, is compact and lightweight using minimal floor space. The HAA can cool high temperature compressed air from compressors down to 40°C or less while efficiently removing moisture from the air. The series does not require cooling equipment, and is free from concerns such as water supply cut-off or freezing. The HAA has a built-in drain separator, and an optional dust-protecting filter.
HAW, Water Cooled Aftercooler
Series HAW is able to cool high temperature compressed air from compressors down to 40°C or less while efficiently removing moisture from the air. As the HAW is water cooled, it can be used where there is high temperature, high moisture and heavy foreign particles. A thermometer makes it easy to check outlet air temperature.
IDFB, Refrigerated Air Dryers
IDFB series refrigerated air dryers are cUL listed for use in North America. These 60 Hz models have rated flows up to 459 SCFM (780 m³/hr [ANR]).
IDU*E, Refrigerated Air Dryer, Size 3~75, High Inlet Air Temperature
Refrigerated air dryer series IDU, in compliance with the Montreal Protocol Regulations, uses refrigerants R134a and R407C to prevent any damage to the earth's ozone layer. (Medium size series use R22). Series IDU provides a stable supply of dry air even under high demand conditions with an inlet air temperature of 60°C.
SMC's series IDH compact air dryer offers stable, compressed air temperature control with its integrated heater, regulator, dryer, and filter. The IDH air dryer delivers a constant volume of compressed air at the correct temperature, dew point, pressure and cleanliness, regardless of external conditions or seasonal climatic conditions. Due to it's compact size, and the ventilation holes being on the front and top, the IDH can be installed closed to a wall or panel.
AMG150C-550C/AMG650-850, Water Separator
The AMG series water separator is installed on the air pressure line to remove water drops from compressed air. It is available in 7 sizes with a variety of optional combinations to meet your application requirements.
AFF, Main Line Filters
Series AFF is strongly recommended as a pre-filter for a refrigerated dryer to avoid fouling of the dryer's heat exchanger.
AM7/8/90D, Coalescing Mist Separator
The AM70~90D series of mist separators feature a lightweight stainless steel body for improved ease of handling during service. Flow capabilities are improved beyond the legacy AM series for extended applicability. Thes coalescing filters are nominally rated at 0.1 micron for an initial stage of oil removal after a particulate filter.
AMD, Main Line Coalescing Filters
Series AMD is a secondary stage of coalescing filtration to remove particles of 0.01 micron from compressed air. Applied properly, they can reduce oil carryover to 0.1 mg/m³ / 0.08 ppm or less (ISO8573-1 class 2 oil carryover).
AME150C-550C/AME650-850, Adsorbing Super Mist Separator, New Style
Series AME separates and adsorbs aerosol state fine oil particles in compressed air and changes the oil lubricating compressed air to oil-free equivalent air. It should be applied for filtration of compressed air requiring high cleanliness for coating lines, compressed air for clean rooms and compressed air for equipment necessary to avoid oils.
AMF150C-550C/AMF650-850, Adsorbing Odor Removal Filter
Series AMF odor removal filter efficiently removes odor in compressed air with an activated carbon element. The unit is designed for use in food processing, pharmaceutical, brewing and breathing systems where odor must be removed.
