Connectors – Tubing
SMC manufactures Fluoro-resin tubing for use in environments involving high temperatures and/or corrosive fluids. Pneumatic tubing is also available in a number of other materials both with and without reinforcement for use in standard applications. SMC fittings incorporate a positive tube seal while the fitting is under pressure which allows polyurethane tubing to be used.
Tubing is available in sizes of 1/8", 5/32", 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", and 1/2". Metric tubing sizes of 3.2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 16mm are available.
SMC's series of polyurethane tubing is manufactured from Polyether resin, insuring the longest possible tube life due to its immunity to hydrolysis. Series TIUB inch size tubing is available in 8 "quick ship" colors, in standard stocked lengths of 66ft, 100ft, 500ft, 1000ft and 1640ft. There are 21 additional standard colors to suit special needs.
Metric and inch size nylon tubing, series for general air is available as standard in black or white, 20 meter rolls. Additional colors and roll sizes are available upon request.
Flame resistance double layer tubing is suitable for air and water piping in environments where sparks from spot welders, etc., may be a problem. The double layer design uses a flame resistant resin (equivalent to UL-94 Standard V-0) for the outer layer.
High purity fluoropolymer tubing is available as standard in metric and inch sizes. These series has outstanding corrosion resistance, compatible with chemicals such as acids, bases and ultrapure water.
The clean tubing series consists of a polyolefin tubing (TPH), and a soft poly-olefin tubing (TPS). Both are available in six different colors and available in 20m or 100m bundles.
Wear resistant tubing series was designed to reduce sliding motion abrasion. This special polyurethane material is very similar to that of regular polyurethane and still maintains a small bending radius. Piping labor hours can be reduced with the TUZ's ability to fit into narrow piping spaces.
SMC's IDK series is a moisture control tube. Condensation in a pneumatic system will cause operating failure and affect the life of pneumatic equipment. The IDK prevents condensation in small cylinders, air grippers, and air operated valves by diffusing water vapor in the piping to the outside before it is condensed.
