Low GWP Chillers
The US, California, Canada and EU have implemented regulations to restrict refrigerants with high Global Warming Potential (GWP). Regulation effective dates vary, but in response to them SMC is introducing chillers with lower GWP refrigerants, either R454C (GWP 146) or CO2 (GWP 1) which are dramatically below new thresholds. These new chillers are offered in several categories and are designed to match performance, dimensions, port size and layout of legacy designs.
HRSF, Medium Capacity, General Purpose Chiller
HRSF medium capacity chillers are professional-grade industrial machines that can be easily integrated into an existing room without large electrical or plumbing upgrades. They deftly balance precision with floor space, perfectly meeting the needs of small to medium machine shops, pharmaceutical labs, distillers, and print shops.
- Cooling capacities, kW: 1.3, 1.9, 2.4, 3,2, 4.7 or 5.9 (60Hz)
- Temperature range setting: 5~40°C

HRRF, Rack Mounted Thermo Chiller, Low GWP Refrigerant
The HRRF rack mounted thermo chiller is a highly specialized cooling unit mountable on a standard 19-inch electronic equipment rack. It’s designed for businesses who want to avoid carbon taxation (Low GWP) and have significant space constraints. It can be integrated into rack based frames or stored in a cabinet, saving valuable floor space.

The HRSC090 is a compact chiller with a large cooling capacity. As a specialized green industrial chiller, it enables zero emissions facilities to meet their aggressive ESG goals. The HRSC090 is inherently compliant because CO₂ is the baseline against which all other global warming gases are measured.

HRSF air-cooled chillers are a ready-to-use solution that doesn't rely on the facility’s plumbing. It is ideal for a well-vented small- to medium-sized shop. The refrigeration circuit is air cooled by a single large fan, with a low sound level of 68 dB(A). The chiller is easy to install and maintain and can be used outdoors.

HRSF water-cooled chillers provide maximum efficiency and silence for facilities with a central cooling tower or facility water connection. Water-cooled chillers are commonly used in cleanrooms and labs with sensitive temperature requirements. The refrigeration circuit is water cooled with a low sound level of 60 dB(A). The heat from the chilling process is exhausted entirely outside the building.

HRZF010, SEMI Standard Double Inverter Chiller, R454C Refrigerant
The HRZF010 is a high-performance, water-cooled refrigerated thermo-chiller designed for the most demanding technical environments on the planet, including semiconductor fabrication facilities which are strictly controlled environments. Its double inverter allows the chiller to maintain +/- 0.1°C stability and speeds up or slows down the motors to match the exact cooling load, potentially reducing energy consumption by up to 65%.

HRLF, Air Cooled Dual Channel Chiller for Lasers, Low GWP Refrigerant
The HRLF air-cooled dual channel chiller is a highly specialized piece of equipment designed to cool fiber lasers. It is specifically engineered for the architecture of a fiber laser and solves three problems:

HRLF, Water Cooled Dual Channel Chiller for Lasers, Low GWP Refrigerant
The HRLF water-cooled dual channel chiller is a premium, high-efficiency cooling solution built as an outstanding solution for high-power fiber laser systems. Ultra-high-power lasers generate immense heat. An air-cooled chiller of this size would typically exhaust enough hot air to overwhelm a building's HVAC system. However, because this HRLF is fanless, it is whisper-quiet and vibration-free, ensuring it won't interfere with sensitive laser alignment or contaminate the air.
