Large Capacity Chiller
Large capacity chiller systems are available in two types:
- a general purpose (HRS) series and
- a high-efficiency inverter (HRSH) series.
HRSH chillers are chosen for ultra-precise temperature control and energy savings, while HRS chillers offer reliability and lower up front costs. All large capacity chillers use a PID temperature control system that is set-and-forget. They track 42 different alarm codes, allowing maintenance teams to quickly troubleshoot issues like low flow or high pressure.

HRSF, Large Capacity, Air Cooled, General Purpose Chiller
HRSF air-cooled chillers are a ready-to-use solution that doesn't rely on the facility’s plumbing. It is ideal for a well-ventilated small-to-medium-sized shop. The refrigeration circuit is air cooled by a single large fan, with a low sound level of 68 dB(A). The chiller is easy to install and maintain and can be used both indoors and outdoors.

HRSF, Large Capacity, Water Cooled, General Purpose Chiller
HRSF water-cooled chillers provide maximum efficiency and silence for facilities with a central cooling tower or facility water connection. Water-cooled chillers are commonly used in cleanrooms and labs with sensitive temperature requirements. The refrigeration circuit is water cooled with a low sound level of 60 dB(A). The heat from the chilling process is exhausted entirely outside the building.

HRSH, Large Capacity, High Efficiency Inverter Chiller, Air-cooled 200VAC
HRSH air-cooled recirculating chillers provide top-tier performance for facilities without a dedicated water loop. They are well-suited for high-precision laser cutting, 3D metal printing, and precision CNC machine shops and can be placed outdoors or next to the machine they are cooling. The triple inverter provides an energy efficient, demand-based rotation control for the compressor, heat pump and fan. Electric options ensure global power supply compatibility.

HRSH, Large Capacity, High Efficiency Inverter Chiller, Water-cooled 200VAC
HRSH water-cooled recirculating chillers are used when the heat or the airflow from an air chiller can’t be allowed to interfere with the production environment. It is essential in semiconductor manufacturing where cleanrooms have strict airflow requirements and in temperature controlled laboratories because the heat is carried away by pipes rather than being exhausted into the air.

HRSH, Large Capacity, High Efficiency Inverter Chiller, Air-cooled 400 or 460VAC
HRSH air-cooled recirculating chillers are the global heavy-lifters of SMC’s large capacity units. This version is engineered specifically for the electrical grids of North America, Europe, and Australia. The HRSH’s triple Inverter technology is critical for fiber laser integration because it fluctuates its speed and cooling to match the laser's power output, preventing "thermal shock" to the laser source.

This cooling method combined with high-voltage inverter technology meets the needs of users who require maximum cooling capacity in environments where air-cooled chillers are impractical, such as high-volume medical grade injection molding. The unit can plug directly into a high-voltage grid without a transformer and doesn’t exhaust hot air into the room or stir up dust particles.

HRS090, Large Capacity Compact Chiller, 200~230/400/460 VAC
The HRS090 large capacity compact chiller provides the maximum possible cooling capacity with the smallest possible footprint, making it ideal for manufacturers with crowded shop floors. A 9.0kW air-cooled or 10.5kW refrigeration circuit can be selected. The chiller package contains the coolant circuit, including pump, tank, heat exchanger, and sensor monitored flow path.

HRS, Large Capacity, General Purpose Chiller, 200 VAC
HRS 200 VAC chillers are compatible with high-end Japanese machine tools designed to run on 200V. Outside of Japan, they are commonly used by US-based machine shops. Water and air-cooled versions are available.

HRS, Large Capacity, General Purpose Chiller, 460 VAC
HRS 460 VAC chillers are compatible with standards set by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), which are used throughout Europe and much of the world outside North America. This chiller is CE compliant and ready to be connected to standard European electrical panels without any secondary power conditioning.
