Air Preparation (FRL - Air Filters, Pressure Regulators, Lubricators)
Air Filter (F), Pressure Regulator (R) and Lubricator (L) units and components for air line preparation ensure clean dry air in pneumatic systems to extend machine longevity, therefore extending production time. SMC FRL units are modular and can be assembled as combination units for plug-and-play applications for quick installment into point-of-use pneumatic lines.
Air line preparation accessories include air pressure gauges, flow switches, soft-start valves and safety shut-off valves to easily monitor pressure drops and changes, and to mitigate overall system downtime in event of line repairs and maintenance.
FRL Units can be assembled with a variety of combinations. Add mist separators, pressure switches, shut-off valves to any combination of Filter, Regulator, or Lubricator to optimize flow rate and filtration ratings at point-of-use compressed air systems. Meet energy savings goals and save space on the production floor with the modular design of units.
Modular style air filters combine the element and bowl in one piece, for simple replacement requiring no tools. The standard polycarbonate 360° transparent bowl avoids corrosion, easily indicates bowl contents and has auto drain capability to minimize maintenance time. SMC pneumatic filters have a standard filtration rating of 5 microns and the capability to filter up to 0.01 microns.
Pressure Regulators from SMC have been updated to the new urban white base color for a clean modern look. Pressure drop across the regulator has been reduced to create a more efficient unit with a maximum set pressure of 100 psi. The locking adjustment knob prevents accidental setting changes. Pressure regulators are available with pressure gauges, mounting brackets and set nuts. The modular design of the regulator series connects with other SMC air line preparation equipment.
Modular lubricator models are available to connect directly to filter and regulator elements to create a single air preparation module for pneumatic equipment.
The Air Management System automatically regulates and isolates the compressed air provided to a machine to improve efficiencies during periods of inactivity. The unit generates pressure, flow, and temperature data to characterize normal operating conditions and identify trends to both compare with similar machines and enable preventative action to maintain optimal system performance. The unit does not require reprogramming of the user's PLC to operate, making integration both simple and cost effective. The high-resolution data is accessed by the PLC via fieldbus and SCADA packages via OPC UA. Using OPC UA and wireless systems, the Air Management System can be added without connector to the PLC or changes to PLC programming.

Pressure gauges range from 0 to 1.5 MPa for a variety of types, including specialized gauges: oil-free/external parts copper-free, clean series and gauge with pressure switch.
30~90% of air consumption required for the current nozzle operation can be saved with the appropriate selection of the new nozzle and sizing. Many variations of nozzles are available with tube materials including nylon, soft nylon, soft copper pipe and OST tubing.
The high noise reduction style silencers keeps the noise level inside a plant below 85dB(A) with a noise reduction effect of 40dB(A). Exhaust cleaners insure clean plant air and reduce noise pollution over 35dB. The AMC series also removes over 99.9% of oil mist.
Soft start-up valves enable a gradual initial pressurization of a system and quick exhaust by blocking the supply of air to minimize system shock.
Shut off valves isolate supplied pressure in a pneumatic system and exhaust downstream pressure for maintenance purposes. They can be used alone or connected to an FRL assembly using modular spaces, ultimately saving air line downtime and cost when maintenance is necessary.

JSXM series is a 2 port direct operated valve for air that can be modularly installed with FRL (AC-D) units. When the coil is in OFF position, JSXM pass through the air from the main path. When coil is in ON position, JSXM will flow air from main path to its blow port. JSXM series provide flexibility to supply clean dry air to different areas of the machine without additional plumbing.
