Our 25A- products are specifically designed for battery production. It restricts the use of copper and zinc as main materials, and uses a specially developed grease that thrives in ultra-low dew points as low as -80°C. But that’s not all. Secondary Battery Actuators
Air cylinders and pneumatic actuators can support automation by enhancing productivity, increasing throughput, and improving worker safety. The 25A- series variations are designed using materials compatible with secondary battery applications, and are able to be used in low dew point environments. These actuators range from linear, guided, rodless, locking, clamp, and stopper styles, and are available with inch and metric dimensions, and as NFPA and ISO Standards. The line also includes related products such as shock absorbers and joints, also compatible with secondary battery applications.
Sensors and Switches
Industrial sensors and switches, sometimes referred to as transducers, installed in the factory automation space can provide essential machine feedback. They can monitor On/Off status, confirm operation within an optimal range, or measure real time operation e.g. pressure or flow.
Industrial sensors and switches can connect to a PLC or other central controller via fieldbus or IO link to enhance troubleshooting by decreasing diagnostic time. Sensors can also become the data source for providing better predictive analytics integral to industrial internet of Things (ll0T) or industry 4.0, all while potentially increasing worker safety.

Directional Control Valve
SMC has improved product performance and reliability with the redesigned SY series valve, offering major advances in valve performance for cost-effective solutions. The series offers high flow with low power consumption in a compact, clean aesthetic design. It is available in body ported or base mounted styles and can be used individually or manifold mounted. The SY5000/7000 has the same valve width as it predecessors, but the flow has been increased by up to 80%, allowing for reduced valve size. A built-in strainer in the pillot valve prevents trouble caused by foreign matter. By using H-NBR seal material for the main valve and seals, Ozone resistance has been improved. Side, top and bottom port/pipe directions are available to allow flexible installation.

Modular F.R.L/Pressure Control Equipment
SMC's air preparation (FRL) products offer a wide variety of filter, regulator, and lubricator units. Combination units include air filter regulator, air filter regulator mist separator, as well as ambient dryers, booster regulators, precision regulators, mist separators, and a wide range of accessories.
Pressure regulators from SMC have been updated to the new urban white base color for a clean modern look. The pressure drop across the regulator has been reduced to create a more efficient unit with a maximum set pressure of 100 psi. The locking adjustment knob prevents accidental setting changes. Options include a mounting bracket, and set nuts for panel mounting as well as pressure gauges.

Air Dryer
Designed for convenient point of use drying without the need for electrical power, membrane dryers utilize hollow fiber membranes to remove water vapor from compressed air. Permeable to water vapor but not air, the IDG series can achieve pressure dew points as low as -44°F (-42°C) and ISO 8573-1 moisture classes from 2 to 6. They have no moving parts, vibration, or heat discharge and contribute only a small amount of purge air to their operating environment. The IDG series is available as single units or conveniently assembled with necessary pre-filtration and optional pressure regulation.

Secondary Battery Connectors
SMC one-touch tube fittings come in metric and inch size pneumatic fittings and are available in a wide variety of sizes, body styles and thread types. The specially designed packing provides positive sealing under pressure without the reduced flow common with compression fittings. SMC offers one-touch tube fittings in several special environments such as anti-static, flame resistant, clean room, DOT, and food service fittings.

Vacuum Equipment
Vacuum generators and suction cups are integral to industrial automation pick and place systems as gripping solutions. SMC's array of vacuum generators, also referred to as ejectors, have variations that include single ejector unit, manifold, inline, and generator/cup in one. SMC suction cups are modular allowing for custom configuration of a multitude of sizes, shapes, materials, and mounting adapters. Options include non-marking types, FDA compliant, varioius cup shapes, ball-joint connections, and buffers.

Process Valve
SMC's 25A- Process Valve series feature air pilot/direct solenoid operated valves designed using materials compliant with secondary battery applications and are able to be used in low dew point environments. Available body materials include resin, aluminum, brass, or stainless steel.

Secondary Battery Compatible Electric Actuators
Electric linear actuators can push, pull, or transfer workloads differently than pneumatic actuators. Pneumatic actuators rely on relatively crude devices such as rubber cushions or shock absorbers, pressure regulators, and flow restricting fittings at the port to control their motion. By contrast, an electric actuator employs an electronically controlled motor and ballscrew to deliver a precise motion profile through acceleration, speed, and deceleration. Further, the controller can integrate multiple "stop" positions along the actuator's stroke with high precision and repeatability.
The 25A- series variations are compatible with secondary battery manufacturing for electronics automotive, and other vehicle types. Design goals include eliminating copper (Cu) and Zinc (Zn) material where possible and employing a low dew point grease that retains lubricity even in low manufacturing temperatures.
