Adaptor & Cup-Lateral Entry w/One-touch Fitting
The ZP, ZP2 and ZP3 series lateral entry adapters offer a wide variety of cup diameters, materials and designs to suit multiple applications. The adapters are available with SMC's acclaimed built-in one-touch fittings. Buffer types are available with strokes up to 50mm, depending on the series.
ZP Lateral Entry One-touch Fitting
This product group serves systems integrators and plant engineers in the automotive manufacturing, general packaging, metal stamping, and consumer goods assembly industries who need repeatable, high-speed pick-and-place functionality for flat, smooth, or rigid materials like sheet metal, cardboard cartons, and glass. The ZP's lateral entry design combined with an integrated one-touch fitting reduces the required vertical mounting space, allowing installation in tight clearance areas.
ZP2 Lateral Entry One-touch Fitting
The ZP2's flexible bellows section provides built-in level compensation and soft-touch contact, absorbing height tolerances and cushioning impact during rapid robot movements. The assembly minimizes overall stack height while preventing vacuum tubing stress. SMC’s proprietary elastomer formulations resist wear and maintain sealing performance over millions of cycles, delivering longer operational life and reduced downtime compared to off-the-shelf alternatives.
ZP3 with Lateral Entry
The ZP3 is a non-marking, ESD-safe adaptor, engineered with fluoro-rubber and silicone materials to eliminate static discharge and part discoloration. Combined with compact lateral adaptors, these assemblies fit into restricted robotic end-effectors without adding mass. Their minimal internal volume provides superior vacuum response speeds.
