Vertical Entry ZP3
The ZPT series suction cups are available in diameters from 2 to 125mm, 6-cup materials, and 4-cup designs (flat, flat with ribs, deep and bellows), to suit multiple applications. Vertical vacuum entry connections can be made via one-touch fittings or threaded connections. Optional buffers can be ordered with up to 50mm stroke. SMC's ZP2 series vacuum pads are available in diameters from 2 to 340mm, and offer a variety of pad materials and designs. The ZP2 series was designed to standardize special products designed for the ZP series. Pad types include: miniature cups, compact cups, nozzle cups, multi-bellows cups, sponge cups, mark-free cups, oval cup variations, and heavy-duty cup variations. Optional buffers can be ordered with up to 100mm stroke. The ZP3 line of suction cups has a compact pad and the buffer body has been shortened by as much as 2.2" when compared to the ZP series. The optional buffer can be ordered with up to 20mm stroke.
ZP3-T, Compact Pad, Vertical Vacuum Inlet w/Adapter
The ZP3-T with adapter is sought by robotics integrators and automation designers working in space-constrained environments. Its overall length is significantly shorter than the standard ZP series. The metal adapter provides a rigid, reliable connection point while saving z-axis space, allowing automated tooling to fit into tight machine enclosures.
ZP3-T, Compact Pad, Vertical Vacuum Inlet w/Buffer
The ZP3-T with buffer takes the compact ZP3 pad and pairs it with a spring-loaded vertical buffer stem. The buffer body was redesigned to shorten it by as much as 2.2 inches compared to legacy models. It provides the mechanical shock absorption needed to protect workpieces from robotic impact, but without the bulky, tall metal housing typical of standard spring buffers.
ZP3B*M Magnetic Buffer
ZP3B Magnetic buffer uses a unique spring-less structure with powerful 4-pole magnets to provide a stable buffer reaction force throughout the entire stroke, ensuring consistent and reliable workpiece handling. It significantly reduces impact applied to delicate workpieces and eliminates metallic dust generation compared to spring-type buffers, reducing risk of damage and improving product quality.
Magnet buffer, Fixed Piping Type - ZP3B#MS
ZP3B#M magnet buffers preserve cleanroom integrity by eliminating the variable pressure of mechanical springs and preventing the generation of metallic spring dust. Traditional mechanical spring buffers increase their resistance the further they compress which risks damaging thin silicon wafers. The ZP3B#M replaces the spring with opposing magnets to create a levitating buffer stroke that applies a constant reaction force regardless of compression depth.

ZP3B#MS magnet buffers feature a fixed piping design where the vacuum port remains stationary while the internal stem moves, isolating the magnetic buffer from external hose interference and extending the lifespan of the pneumatic tubing in tight robotic setups.
