ZP2 Lateral Entry One-touch Fitting
The ZP, ZP2 and ZP3 series lateral entry adapters offer a wide variety of cup diameters, materials and designs to suit multiple applications. The adapters are available with SMC's acclaimed built-in one-touch fittings. Buffer types are available with strokes up to 50mm, depending on the series.
ZP2-R*W, Oval Pad, Without Buffer, Lateral Vacuum Entry
The ZP2-R*W without buffer is the go-to solution for handling narrow, elongated workpieces—such as extruded metal profiles, semiconductor lead frames, or thin electronic devices—where a standard round cup would overhang the edge and fail to seal. The rigid, buffer-less mount provides exact positioning precision and maximum stability during high-speed, repeatable pick-and-place cycles.
ZP2-R*W, Oval Pad, w/Buffer, Lateral Vacuum Entry
ZP2-R*W with buffer combines the narrow-handling capabilities of an oval pad with the mechanical compliance of a built-in spring buffer in order to pick up long, thin parts that have inconsistent heights. The buffer absorbs the impact, preventing part damage and ensuring a secure vacuum seal even if the robot's programmed position isn't perfectly flush with the workpiece.
