Removal of water vapor and condensation from main lines of pneumatic systems is best performed through use of membrane (wicking), desiccant (adsorption) and refrigerated (refrigerant) Air Dryers. The varying outlet pressure dew points of compressed air dryers mitigate humidity in the air line, which in turn, will help avoid corrosion within the system and prolong pneumatic component lifespans. The lower the dew point temperature, the drier the air downstream will be.
Large flow capacity compressed air filters and centrifugal water separators are essential to efficient automation systems. Depending on the unit, SMC’s main line filters can remove contaminants up to 0.01 microns to provide clean, dry air for the downstream applications.

With coalescing filtration, SMC’s upstream main line filters remove contaminants as fine as 0.1 microns. Some filters can remove aerosol state oil mist, up to 0.01 microns for precise, clean, dry air for the most efficient use in pneumatic systems.
The after coolers can decrease compressed air temperature down to 40°C or less while also efficiently performing initial steps of moisture removal from wet air. Air-cooled and water-cooled after coolers are both available to suit your application needs.
Auto drain valves reliably discharge unwanted contaminants from the pneumatic system without requiring a human operator. SMC offers air-operated, motor-operated and heavy-duty float operated styles to maximize efficiency.
