Valve and Regulator Leak Detection Training

This training reviews AP Tech recommended leak detection methods for valves and regulators. Introduces definition of a leak. Reviews He mass spectrometer use and limitations. Defines and characterizes permeation type leaks vs. seat leaks. Discusses static leak testing, inboard He leak testing, outboard He leak testing. Cautions against inboard regulator seat testing. Reviews methods for pressure decay tests. At the end of training, the user will know how to leak test AP Tech valves and regulators and the advantages, trade-offs and limitations of each method. How a Pressure Regulator Works and Diaphragm Valve Basics training should be completed before this training.
